A Beautiful Wylie & Lochhead Bergere Chair

This lovely old armchair made by the famed Glasgow firm of Wylie & Lochhead was completely worn and unusable. The covering material and hessian were in disrepair and the stuffing was falling out.

It was completely stripped to the frame, polished and re-webbed, re-sprung and re-upholstered with traditional stitched edge at the front and comfortable horsehair stuffing. New feather box cushions were made for the seat and back and covered with a lovely yellow damask to contrast with the dark wood.
